Abraham “Abe” Rubio, age 41, and his loving wife Ashley Mabe Rubio, 44, went home to be with their Heavenly Father on the morning of Friday January 20, 2023, in Alamance County.
A service to celebrate the life of Abe and Ashley will be held at 7:00pm Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 3:30pm-6:30pm in the sanctuary of the church.
Abe and Ashley loved, provided, and were so very proud of their three children Tristan, Natalia, and Ethan Rubio. They provided and supported them in all their endeavors in life. They not only set a Godly example for their children, but all those who knew them as well, and was always serving and giving of their time and talents to the congregational family of New Hope Baptist Church.
Abe was born in El Paso, Texas and was the son of Ernesto and Concepcion Piña-Armendaiz Casillas. He was a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School and furthered his education at Guilford College. He served as an usher and on the security team of New Hope Baptist Church and was the host of “Encouragement From the Word of God” on Facebook. He was employed with Clear Springs Insurance Company as an accountant.
Ashley was born in Guilford County daughter of the late Rev. David Mabe and his loving wife Gail Mabe of Greensboro. She was a graduate of Vandalia Christian School and shared her voice through the choir and several singing groups of New Hope Baptist Church. She was employed with Lincoln Financial as an executive assistant.
In addition to Abe’s children and parents, he is survived by his sister Maria Martin (Edwine); brothers Josh Rubio (Amanda) and Ernie Casillas. Also surviving are many extended family members.
In addition to Ashley’s children and mother, she is survived by her sisters Carolyn Stone (Rev. Jeff Stone) and Andrea Cox (TJ). Also surviving are many extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Hope Baptist Church 1525 Flora Ave. Burlington, NC 27217 or to Vandalia Christian School 3919 Pleasant Garden Rd. Greensboro, NC 27406.
