Alma was born and raised in Guilford County to the late Charles Clansford and Laxie Queen Nicholson. She went on to raise her family in Greensboro and served her community at Brown Gardiner Drug Store for many years as a pharmacy technician. She filled that role perfectly, enjoying the relationships cultivated there with friends and customers. Alma had a big heart and she enjoyed being with people, regardless of whether you were family, friends, or complete strangers. Even at the end of her life, Alma shone a light to those around her. She was generous, kind, loving, well respected, and truly a gift to her friends and family. In her spare time, Alma loved to gather and organize photo albums for all of her family, and send greeting cards for every occasion. Alma was a born again Christian and was a member of Liberty Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her siblings, 4 sisters and 2 brothers; her first husband and father of her children, William Howard Elmore; and her second husband, Harvey K. Bryant.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia Elmore and spouse Brian Percival of Minocqua, WI and Melinda Carrington of Greensboro, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be left to Liberty Wesleyan Church.
