Obituary
Mr. Alphonso Torrain Witherspoon, 54, of Greensboro, passed away on April 19, 2023.
Alphonso was born on April 22, 1968 in Guilford County, NC. He cherished his family above all things. He also enjoyed doing puzzles, Madden and watching and pulling for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also worked as a locksmith for several years.
He is survived by his children, Monique Miller, Alex Marshall, Rashell Lee, Rashad Lee and Alexis Hall; his mother, Catherine Washington Stevenson; his sisters, Alberta Warren and Angela Meighan; brothers, Alvin Witherspoon, Sr. (Claretta), Anthony Witherspoon (Pamela), Andrew Witherspoon (Dee), Albert Witherspoon, Sr., Alvis Witherspoon, and Antonio Witherspoon, Sr. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, one great grandson, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
One of Alphonso’s favorite quotes was, “treat it like it’s yours, but remember it’s mine’s.”
