Andrew Michael "Mike" Wright

Andrew Michael “Mike” Wright, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mike was born November 6, 1949 in Surry County to the late Andrew Jackson Wright, Sr. and Mozelle Cockerham Wright.  He served in the US Army and was retired from Safety Electric after 45 years as an electrician.  Mike had a passion for flower and vegetable gardening, cooking and carpentry.  He was a hidden artist, a man of many talents and few words.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Wright and brother, Jackie Wright.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Lorie Fix (John), and April Sheppard (Wayne); grandchildren, Samuel Fix and Melia Sheppard; sisters, Peggy Spurlin and Pat Portis.
