Anita Kathryn (Barbee) Jones

Anita Kathryn Barbee Jones, 75, of Greensboro went to be with Jesus on Tuesday May 5, 2026, with her family by her side.

She was born on April 23, 1951, in Greensboro NC to the late Shirley Barbee and Robert Barbee both of Greensboro. Anita was preceded in death by her late husband Jack Oliver Jones of 46 years along with her parents, Shirley and Robert Barbee, and her brothers Robbie and William Barbee.

Anita lived most of her life in Greensboro NC but has always had a piece of her heart at the ole homeplace in Hillsville VA. Anita was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and keeper of peace and love. She worked for K&C Machine Company in Greensboro for 46 years and was still trying to handle business just days before passing. Anita loved her family dearly and spent as much time with them as possible. She looked for any occasion to get the family together to enjoy time with each other. Anita loved traveling, especially to the beach and the mountains. She enjoyed many trips late in life with best friend Bo as they looked for any opportunity to explore new places. Anita made a massive impact on many lives, but she made the most on her children and her sister and Best Friend Auntie C. Life was simple for Grandma Jay, she did not ask for much but she certainly gave plenty and she will always be remembered for that.  We will all be looking for those cardinals wherever we are or go and we will know you are still looking over us.

Anita leaves behind; son, Jack Alan Jones of Lexington (wife Lisa), daughter, Barbee Jones Brown of Greensboro (husband Steve), son, Kevin Deric Jones of Graham (wife Taylor), sisters Vickie Rodriguez (Al), Lisa Sexton, Teresa Taylor and Cynthia Reddick (Parrish); grandchildren, Tori Hedrick (Ben), Kathryn Dery (Gilles), Will Jones, Matthew Jones, Whitley Jones, Rob Brown, Savannah Jones and Vera Jones; and great grandchildren, Baylor Hedrick, Valor Hedrick and Amelia Grace Dery.

The family will receive friends and family Thursday May 14, 2026, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at George Brothers Funeral Home at 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406.

Funeral service will take place Friday May 15, 2026, at 2:00PM at George Brothers Funeral Service 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406 with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park at 3600 N O. Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405.
