It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Louise Jones-Collins, who departed this life peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 86. surrounded by the love of her family.
Anita was the heart of our family – a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was born in Stokesdale, NC prior to relocating to Greensboro, NC where she completed her formal education. A devoted mother, Anita dedicated her life to nurturing her family with grace, patience, and unconditional support. Her laughter filled our home, her wisdom guided our paths, and her love was the foundation upon which we built our lives.
After retiring after many years of employment in the textile industry and entrepreneurial business ownership adventures, Anita found joy in the simple pleasures of life spending hours in her garden, tending to her flowers and vegetables with care and pride. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and creativity, where the aroma of her delicious cooking brought everyone together. But above all, her greatest joy came from spending quality time with her children, creating cherished memories through everyday moments and heartfelt
conversations. In addition to these wonderful delights, Anita’s love for animals added an extremely valuable contribution to the community and overall society. She raised lots of dogs, cats, and birds during her lifetime.
Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the lessons she taught, the memories we cherish, and the love she so freely gave. We are forever grateful for the time we had with her and will carry her legacy in our hearts always.
Anita is predeceased by her husband of several years Levonus Collins. She is survived by six loving children: Charles C. Jones Jr., Angela Jones-Chavis, James R. Jones, Terry R. Jones, Charita L. Jones, and Steven L. Jones (Sheila); twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, all who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives with the kindness and integrity she instilled in them. In addition to her immediate family, Anita leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving friends and family members who are greatly loved.
A private service will be held with close family and friends to honor her life and celebrate the beautiful soul she was on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at 2:00pm at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407.
Rest in peace, dearest Mother. You will always be our guiding light.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”
