Ann Gray (Elkins) Lackey

Mrs. Ann Gray Elkins Lackey, 85, of Greensboro, passed away on September 3, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday at Groometown United Methodist Church of which she was a lifelong member. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Mrs. Lackey was born in Guilford County on April 4, 1938, to the late P.G. and Marie B. Elkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginger Lackey. She graduated from Jamestown High School and from High Point School of Nursing at High Point Memorial Hospital. She was employed at High Point Memorial Hospital, Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital, Carteret General Hospital, Johnson City Memorial Hospital in TN and more recently at Wesley Long Hospital. Her love and caring for others was manifested through her nursing skills.

Mrs. Lackey is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Robert “Bob” Henry Lackey; her son, Jeff Lackey; grandchildren, Matthew Britt (Molly) and Mallory Lemond (Casey): great grandchildren, Ava Gray Britt and Bear Lemond and her two brothers, George Elkins and John Elkins (Nancy).
