Arnold Ramsey Carswell

Mr. Arnold Ramsey Carswell, 81, of Greensboro, passed away on November 20, 2022.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. Mr. Carswell will lie in state at George Brothers Funeral Service chapel until 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2022.

Mr. Carswell was born in Caldwell County on September 7, 1941, to the late Garmon and Cleta Houk Carswell. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a United States Army veteran having honorably served in the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Carswell Business Systems. He attributed the successfulness of his own business to the experience and lifelong friendships that he made through his employment at Clyde Rudd & Associates.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Angela Carswell and his brother, Mayford Carswell.

Mr. Carswell is survived by his children, Amy Reyer (Kevin), Andy Carswell (Kris), Joe Carswell, Megan Carswell Gladden (Tom), Abbi Carswell, Ali Carswell, Lucy Carswell and Layce Carswell; his five grandchildren, Matthew Reyer, Mason Reyer, Maddie Gladden, Luke Gladden, and Wyatt Gladden; also, as he referred to her, the “love of his life”, Carolyn Autry and best pal, “Pippa”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Carswell.
