Barbara Ann (Oakes) Pegg

Barbara Ann Oakes Pegg, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 11, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday July 14, 2025 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Barbara was born December 31,1941, in Guilford County to the late Robert Franklin Oakes and Clara Reeves Oakes. She loved children dearly and kept many in her home for over 30 years. Barbara had a green thumb and loved working in her flower garden, especially with her roses.  She had a feisty personality and was quite the storyteller. 

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Gordon (Hugh), and Debra Dumont (Christian); grandchildren, Jared Gordon, Madeline Dumont, Ian Gordon, and Christopher Dumont; and her last remaining sibling of eight children, Faye Dillon.     

The family would like to thank the staff of Clapp's Nursing Center for the wonderful care they gave Barbara over the past year and a half.
