Barbara May Rumley Salmon, 89, of McLeansville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Graveside service will be held 3:00pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.
Barbara was born in Guilford County, NC to the late William Arlendo and Virginia Catherine Newby Rumley. She graduated from high school where she was known as “Bobcat” in athletic career. She went on to work for Allen-Bradley in manufacturing and for Guilford County School System as a school bus driver. Regardless of her job titles, her highest dedication was to her family. She ensured that they were provided for and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin to all her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Bobbi is preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Ray Salmon, Sr. and her siblings Dorothy Rumley Holland and William Ronnie Rumley, Sr.
Bobbi is survived by her sons Randolph Ray Salmon, Jr. of the home and Richard Byron Salmon and wife Ginger. She is also survived by two grandchildren; her brother Thomas Rumley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
