Barbara Ann (Balmos) Welch

Mrs. Barbara Balmos Welch, age 82, a resident of Greensboro, passed away Wednesday January 18, 2023 at Blumenthal Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Friday at Life Community Church with visitation beginning at 1:30pm.

Mrs. Welch was a native of Port Jervis, New York and was the daughter of the late Robert and Blanche Coleman Balmos. She was a graduate of Port Jervis High School.  She was a faithful member of Life Community Church where she was active with the senior adult group. She retired from Kmart and went back to work with Macy’s Department Store.

Mrs. Welch is survived by her son Thomas Wayman and his wife Suzanne, of Mt. Gilead, NC and daughter Kelly Freeman of Allentown, PA; brother Bob Balmos; sister Diane Warner.  Also surviving are her five grandchildren Thomas “Rob” Wayman, Jr, Jarett “Cole” Wayman, William Earl Parker, III and his wife Michelle Phillips Parker, Kyle Freeman, and granddaughter Page Freeman; three great-grandchildren Trey, Skylar, and Ethan Parker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 4615 Dundas Dr. Greensboro, NC  27407.
