Betty “Carolyn” Alley Autry, 84 of Greensboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior May 22, 2026. She is survived by her two sons Kevin Gene Autry and wife, Robin and Waymon H. “Wayne” Autry, Jr. and wife, Vicki, one daughter Verona C. Snuggs and husband, Chuck. Also surviving are six grandchildren Kevin Gene Autry, Jr. and wife, Katie, Gabriel Autry and wife, Beatrice, Geena Autry, Emma Jewel Autry, Chandler Snuggs, Kayla Snuggs Tackett and husband, Corbin, and three great grandchildren Kaleb Autry, Hudson Tackett, and Haven Tackett.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Waymon H. “Buddy” Autry, her dad Peter Alley, mother Rosetta Alley, brother Joseph Alley, and brother Donald Alley. Her surviving brother is Alvis Alley and wife, Linda of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and sister-in-law Carol Alley Brantley and husband, Bill of Raleigh, NC.
She and her husband owned Omega Mortgage Corporation from 1990 until their retirement in 2006. She also owned and operated Elite Boutique in Burlington, NC and Carolyn’s Shoes in Asheboro, NC prior to opening Omega Mortgage.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was time spent with family and engaging with her grandchildren and their activities. She also attended and loved the Christians at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel where her dad was one of the early founders. She had a love for music and enjoyed giving her God given talents to the church through her piano ministry and singing in the choir. In her later years, she became fond of LIFE Community Church of Jamestown where she enjoyed the ministry and relationships she developed there.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at LIFE Community Church. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shannon Hills Bible Chapel Of Greensboro, where their use should be designated for Mountain Top Youth Camp in Pinnacle, NC and/or Baptist Children's Home in Thomasville, NC.
