Billie Lee Bowman

Mr. Billie Lee Bowman, age 81, went home to his Heavenly Father to be with his wife, of 60 years, Ellen Marie Bowman on Thursday February 24, 2020.

A funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Plainview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -2:00pm at the church.

Billie was born, in Guilford county, to the late Ira and Nonnie Mae Moore Bowman.   He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church, and retired from Thomasville Furniture Company as a cabinet maker.  He enjoyed being outside either farming, mowing his lawn, fishing, or working on old cars. His best memory of his brother Gray Bowman was sitting on the bench outside the store while drinking a mountain dew and eating an oatmeal cookie.

In addition to his wife, parents, and brother, he was preceded in death by daughter Christine Hawks, one sister, and five brothers.

Billie is survived by his children Patricia Law, Billy Ray Newman, Douglas Newman, and Edith Holder.  Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
