Bobby Jean (Lashley) Belton

Mrs. Bobby Lashely Belton, 86, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at her home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Barrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ollie Lashley; daughter, Karen “Joy” Belton; son, Mark Lee Belton; brothers, Bud and George Lashley; and sisters, Helen Apple and Freda Kennedy.

Bobby loved to travel, work in her garden, and do yardwork.  She loved the Lord and in her younger days was a member of the Billy Graham Choir.  Bobby was a longtime member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and a devoted Christian.   She was a wonderful and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother; and was the rock and backbone of the family bringing everyone together.  She always tried to point you in the right direction using her strong Biblical principles whether it was the popular thing or not.  No one could love you more.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arvel Belton; daughter, Bonnie Culler (Chris); grandchildren, Charles, Shellie, Cameron, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Ashelyn, Abigail, Sophia, Ryan, and John Jr.; sister, Ruby Lovett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom she loved.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Sunday at the church prior to the service.
