Brenda Mae Miller

Brenda Mae Miller, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 26, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow in Guilford Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Miller was born August 22, 1945 in Elizabeth City, VA to the late Theodore James Nickles, Sr., and Kathleen Roe Nickles. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Shahab Uddin, and granddaughter, Jennifer Greene.  She retired after 30 years from Guilford County Schools.  Mrs. Miller attended Mt. Hope Baptist Church.  She loved serving others, especially through her cooking, was selfless, and a laborer for the Lord.  She was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Grandmommy”. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter Miller; children, Philip Miller, Melinda Harding (Sandy), Penny Miller, Wendy Parrish (Del), Deanna Uddin, and Alton Miller (Carla); fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and siblings, Junior, Lois and Janice.
