Brenda Limbaugh Bush Shaver, 84, of Browns Summit passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Brenda attended Gospel Baptist Church, where she participated actively in the Super Seniors Group and sang in the choir. Additionally, she had a passion for sewing, which included crafting beautiful quilts.

She was fiercely loyal, devoted to her husband Pete for over 50 years, and always present for her family—whether cheering at games, supporting her grandkids and great-grandkids, or working behind the scenes with the NEGHS Booster Club.

Adventurous and courageous, she set out on her own as a young woman in North Carolina and never stopped exploring. From countless cruises and road trips to outings with her beloved Super Seniors group, she embraced every chance to go, do, and see more of the world.

She was spunky, outspoken, and never afraid to give her opinion, often with humor and candor. Her quick wit and feisty spirit made her unforgettable.

Creativity ran through every part of her life. A talented seamstress, quilter, and crafter, she poured love into everything she made—whether it was a formal dress for Cynthia, a quilt stitched from Billy’s old jeans, or treasured memory pillows and blankets crafted from Pete’s shirts and ties.

With an inclusive heart, she had a soft spot for the underdog and those who struggled, always ready to laugh, encourage, and lift others up. Her childlike positivity, generosity, and spirit of loyalty will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Dolan Shaver; children, Cynthia Bush and Billy Bush; step children, Ronnie Shaver (Anita), Jeff Shaver (Teresa), and Richard Shaver (Nancy); sister, Janice Radziejewski; grandchildren, Victoria, Addison, Becka, and Taylor; step grandchildren,  Emme, Addison, and Natalie; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
