Brenda Carol (James) Sheppard

Mrs. Brenda Carol James Sheppard, 76, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Sharpe Road Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Cook and Pastor Nathan Whipple officiating.  Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Sheppard; parents Marvin and Emma James; grandson, Nathan Sheppard; sisters, Iris Roof, Dorothy Davis, and “Lib” McGee; and brothers, Joe, Sam, and Phillip James.

Brenda met the love of her life at age 15. Brenda and Glenn were married for 52 years. Their love for one another was an inspiration to their family as the boys watched them dance in the kitchen and hold hands while listening to  the oldies.

Brenda was part owner of U.S. Truck and Trailer.  She loved to spend her time reading, eating at Pavillion, and watching Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy.  She always enjoyed taking trips with the senior’s group at Sharpe Road Baptist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by her son, Robbie Sheppard (Christy); son, Brian Sheppard (Kelly); grandchildren, Celeste Tiller (Aaron), Hunter Sheppard (Bailey), Jordan Sheppard, Riley O’Neil (Lydia), and Blake Gilles (Ivy); great-grandchildren, Thomas Sheppard, Peyton Tiller, and Lucas O’Neil; sister, Louise Purgason; brother, Don James (Betty); her Cocker spaniel, “Marty”; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends whom she loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service.
