Carmen Denise Jones

Carmen Denise Jones, 51, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at her home, Horizons Care Center.

A funeral service to celebrate Carmen’s life will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11:00am at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Barrett officiating. A private burial will be held.

Carmen was preceded in death by her father, Orville Gregory Jones.

Carmen had a bright and beautiful personality and she was a precious gift from God. Through many illnesses and hospitalizations her tolerance was never lacking. She loved being dressed in many colors, rocking, and making her happy sounds. Even through her health struggles, she had her own special communications and was always very aware of her surroundings. She enjoyed going on field trips, being outside and feeling the sunshine, and watching her cartoon DVDs. Carmen also loved special music, listening to childrens choirs, her plush pull-string toys, and her tambourine.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares, God’s grace has carried her and her family all the way. The staff at her residence care center were each a Godsend for her family. The family wishes to extend their enormous gratitude to the nursing director, Amanda; assistant, Tiffiany; Daryl; nurses; and many other staff members who loved Carmen and helped care for her.

Carmen is survived by her loving mother, Ruth Jones; her brother and sister-in-law who are constants in both she and her mother’s life, Rodney and Karen Jones; niece and nephew, Rodney Jones, Jr. and Julia Martin (Luke) and brand new great-niece, Elaine Marie Martin; her supportive aunts who were always ready and on-call, Frances Badenhop (Donnie) and Donna Smith (Robin). Other uncles and aunts, Ronnie Jones (Brenda), Gaye Jones Lambert, and Becki Jones Pollard. Also surviving are many extended friends and family members.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left in Carmen’s honor to Horizons Care Center Administration 101 Horizons Lane, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
