Carolyn Caviness Siler

Mrs. Carolyn Caviness Siler, age 89, passed away Friday May 2, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Siler will be 2:00pm Saturday at Groometown Baptist Church with Rev. Greg King Officiating the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00pm -2:00pm at the church and following the service at Mrs. Siler’s residence.

Mrs. Siler, a native of Guilford County, was born to the late Jesse and Grace Lindley Caviness. She was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School (Grimsley High School) and was a member of Groometown Baptist Church.  For many years, she worked as a switchboard operator for several companies and later became a caregiver in the healthcare profession.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Siler; daughter Vivian Leonard; sons Robert “Robbie” Siler and Jimmy “James” Siler.

Mrs. Siler is survived by her children Gail Krauthoff and Kenneth Siler (Donna).  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

In honor of Mrs. Siler, memorial contributions may be given to Groometown Baptist Church 4202-A Groometown Rd.  Greensboro, NC 27407.
