Catherine "Cathy" (Poe) McGee

Catherine Poe McGee, 68, of Greensboro, passed away on June 14, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 19, at Living Waters Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Cathy was born in Guilford County on August 2, 1957, to the late Robert and Hazel Poe.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” McGee. She was a longtime member of Living Waters Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved being “mawmaw” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to shop and spending time at the beach.

Cathy is survived by her children, Eddie A. McGee and Dave A. McGee (Melanie); her grandchildren, Bailey McGee, Calee McGee, Julia Martin (Luke) and Rodney Jones, Jr.; great grandchildren, Elaine, Lydia, and Israel Martin; she also loved being “Aunt Cathy” to her nieces and nephews and her siblings, Robert “Bobby” Poe (Sue), Jim Poe (Peggy), Roger Poe (Karen, Dec’d), Jaynee Poe and Joyce Poe.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cathy’s memory to Living Waters Baptist Church.
