Charles “Chuck” Magill, Jr., 61, of Pleasant Garden, passed away at his home on Monday, July 28, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
Born February 19, 1964, in Harrisburg, PA, Chuck was a man who lived life full throttle and full of heart. His garage was more than a place to park cars—it was the neighborhood gathering spot, where life long friends and neighbors came together to watch the race or football. He was a loyal Dale Earnhardt fan, swore he had a fling with Stevie Nicks, and had a whistle so loud and distinct, you could hear it from a mile away.
Chuck had a way of making people feel seen. Every time his son or grandson walked through the door, they were greeted with his signature: “Hey buddy.” He was deeply proud of his daughter and loved his grandkids more than anything—there wasn’t a holiday that went by without a gift waiting from Pawpaw Chuck.
In his younger years, Chuck’s home was filled with friends, laughter, food, and loud music. If steak or lobster was on the menu, you could bet he was ordering it. He shared a lifelong bond with his sisters, and those relationships were a constant source of strength and love in his life.
Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Kay Magill and nephew, Benjamin Joseph Ellerd IV. He is survived by his father, Charles Leslie Magill, Sr.; his son, Adam Magill (Heather); his daughter, Kelli Wood; his grandchildren, Elijah Charles Magill, Scarlett Kay Wood, and Emilia Blair Wood; his beloved sisters, Connie Holmer and Christie Rierson (Randy), and his loyal K9 companion, Peanut.
As Dwight Yoakam sang, “It’s guitars, Cadillacs, and hillbilly music, the only thing that keeps me hanging on.” Chuck lived by that spirit—with grit, laughter, and connection—and it’s what his family and friends will hold on to as they remember him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved. We find peace and strength knowing Chuck proclaimed his salvation through Jesus and now rests with our Lord.
