Clyde Randall Simpson

Mr. Clyde Randall Simpson, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at
Pennybyrn.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3:30 pm at George
Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Walsh officiating.
Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsay and Gertrude Simpson;
sisters, Nellie Simpson and Laura McDaniel; and brother, Jack Simpson.
Clyde was a 1958 graduate of Bessemer High School, and loved to spend his time at
the beach, fishing, and with family and his retired buddies from the National Guard and
Carolina Steel.
He is survived by his stepson, Danny, whom he dearly loved; brothers Lindsay Simpson
and W.B. Simpson (Rochelle); sister-in-law Lou Land; nieces Jean Tripp, Anita
Simpson, Linda Grimes, Janet Weitz, Lisa Simpson, and Julie Atkinson; and nephew
Randy McDaniel.
The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 3:00-3:30 pm prior to
the service.
The family would like to extend a special heart-felt “Thank You” to the nurses and
caregivers in Hughes House at Pennybyrn who loved and cared for him like family. For
this, our family is extremely grateful.
