D. Gene Cheek

Reverend D. Gene Cheek was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 2 while surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 7, 2018 at Lebanon Baptist Church, 4635 Hicone Rd. in Greensboro. He will be laid to rest in Pleasant Garden, NC

 Reverend Cheek was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene for over forty years and was employed by Shamrock Corp. as press operator for twenty-eighty years.

He leaves behind to join him later, his wife of sixty-one years, Faye Cheek; sons, Harris Cheek and his wife, Debbie, of Greensboro and Paul Cheek and his wife, Michele, of McLeansville; daughters, Pam Martin and husband Tony of Mt. Crawford, VA, Beverly Wall of Asheboro, NC, Angie Lacy and husband, Patrick of Greensboro, and Kim Hanlin and husband Dennis also of Greensboro; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, John Cheek and wife Cecile of Houston, TX; sisters, Glenda Medley and Carlene Emerson, both of Asheboro, NC; and many other members of his family.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday, May 6, 2018 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
