Daisy Lefler Obituary

Mrs. Daisy Henley Lefler, age 83, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday November 22, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Sunday at Red Cross Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Bud Rowe and Rev. Ken Goins officiating the service.  The family will receive friends from 2:00pm – 2:45pm at the church.

Daisy was born, in Alamance County, to the late Walter and Grace Price Henley, Sr.

Earlier in her life, Daisy was a hairdresser and seamstress.  She worked for Michael Thomas Furniture in Liberty for a number of years.  Anyone who knew Daisy, knew that she was a woman who loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was a prayer warrior for her family and many friends, as well as for her Pastor.  Daisy was a member of Red Cross Baptist for almost 50 years.  In that time, she taught children’s classes for Child Evangelism Fellowship, Sunday School classes at her church, custodian at her church for many years, and served as Missions Treasurer for more than 35 years.  Daisy was a friendly, loving, caring woman, who was faithful to her church and to her Savior.  With a rich alto voice, she sang in her church choir for many years, and sang special music when she felt the Lord’s leading.  Daisy also loved working in her garden and yardwork.  She was a woman of compassion, and strong in her faith because of the wonderful assurance of her salvation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Bud Lefler; sister Paulette Goins; brothers Walter and Richard Henley.

Daisy is survived by her daughters Deborah Chesnutt (Doug) of Pleasant Garden, Janet Lefler Baxter (Bobby) of Ramseur, and Frankie Lefler (Shelia) of Greensboro; brothers Tim, Wallace, and William Henley; grandchildren Andy Lefler, Hannah Steed (Barry), Jesse Lefler, Sara Cross, Beka Harker (Chris), Katie Barefoot (Kelly), Madison Baxter, and Landon Baxter; great grandchildren Caleb, Conner, Cohen, Corbin, and Everly Steed, Lillie, Layne, Londyn, and Liam Cross, Sienna Lefler, Finley, Cora, and Wren Harker, and Holt Barefoot.
