David Charles Bledsole

David Charles Bledsole, 79, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Friday, September 13, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family in his home.

Funeral service will be at 12 o’clock noon on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Straightway Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bledsole and Rev. Ricky Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

David was born in Guilford County, NC to the late James and Viola Bledsole. He was a devoted Christian man who loved his God and his family. David had a good sense of humor, liked to joke around and cut up, and he always had a joyful smile on his face. He enjoyed working at Mike Bledsole Mechanical, Inc., watching racing, and his puppy dogs (Abby, Lulu, and Roxie). David was also an award-winning gospel singer with Called Out Ministries. Above all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather (A Legend) who will be missed dearly by so many.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Bledsole; brother Carl Vancannon (Buzzy); and granddaughter Jenna Goode.

Surviving are his wife Karen Bledsole of the home; his children Rev. Jimmy Bledsole (Darlene), Donald Bledsole (Sarah), Michael Bledsole (Gina), Angie Goode (Jeremy) and Tammy Woody (Keith); step-children Tammy Rice (Chris) and Eddie Michael; grandchildren Ashley Mendenhall (Ryan), Brandon Bledsole (Kimberly), Trey Bledsole (Rebecca), Leann Payne (Drew), Josh Waldron (Kimberly), Blake Bledsole (Amber), J.R. Goode (Kelsey), Jacob Goode (Hailey), Kelsey McGinn (Connor), Austin Woody (Mikaley), Chase Woody (McKenzie), and Makayla Bledsole; great-grandchildren Alyssa Mendenhall, Payton Mendenhall, Andon Mendenhall, Paisley Mendenhall, Abigail Bledsole, Maleigha Bledsole, Lydia Bledsole, Greta Bledsole, Titus Bledsole, Brexton Waldron, Boone Waldron, Emma Payne, Abby Payne, Ellee Bledsole, Evie Bledsole, Ryker Goode, Blaine Goode, Wade Goode, Jace Goode, Teegan McSwain, Ollie McSwain, Lanie McGinn, Lilly McGinn, Saylor Woody, Isaiah Bledsole, and Kaleb Bledsole; brother Don Bledsole and sister Margaret Little (Bobby). Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm Monday, September 16, 2024 at Straightway Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at Straightway Baptist Church beginning at 10:00am on Tuesday, prior to the service.
