David Fogleman Edwards, 83, of Jamestown passed away Tuesday April 30, 2024.
A native of Greensboro, he was born June 16, 1940, the son of Herman and Eula Fogleman Edwards. David graduated from Greensboro Senior High in 1961. He was a proud veteran of the US Army where he was a Specialist deployed to South Korea. After concluding his service, David attended Guilford Technical Institute where he received training to become a welder. His career as a welder and pipefitter took him across the United States, the most notable stop being his tenure above the Arctic Circle in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska helping to complete the Alaskan pipeline.
David enjoyed antique automobiles with a special appreciation for steam powered cars, was a beekeeper, loved to dance and tell a joke.
David is survived by sisters, Sarah Sexton of Virginia Beach and Janice Cox of Greensboro; nieces, Kathy (Doug) Davis and Karen Mancini of Virginia Beach and nephew Bryan (Erin) Cox of Efland.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm Monday, May 6 at George Brothers Funeral Service with the family receiving friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Muir’s Chapel UMC in Greensboro.
