David enjoyed camping with family and friends and taking his two dogs, Dixie and Doodles for golf cart rides. He was a fun-loving person who was never at a loss for words to tell a good story to keep you laughing.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 41 years, Donna Gaulden Powell; daughter, Cheri Calhoun (Doug) and Summer Routh (Hunter); and granddaughters Caitlin and Emily Calhoun, whom he adored.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
