Dean Edward Booher

Dean Edward Booher, 70, of Climax passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at his home with his wife and family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Faith Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM at the church prior to the service.

Dean was born September 30, 1951, in San Bernardino, CA to the late Ed and Doris Booher. Dean proudly served his country with the United States Navy. From the age of 4 until his stroke Dean played guitar & sang for numerous churches & bands. He was employed & retired from Western Electric/AT&T/ Lucent Technologies. He also worked with the US Census Bureau in Asheboro and Enterprise Holding of Greensboro. Dean was a Boy Scout where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and he also volunteered with the Boy Scouts. He was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church. Dean was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas, known as the IBRBS, Long Leaf Pine chapter. Dean was a loving and giving man that volunteered with children’s groups, delivering gifts at Christmas, and playing the role of Santa. He loved to travel and ride his motorcycle. And through it all, he shared with others his love for Jesus.

Along with his parents, Dean is preceded in death by a son, Chris Booher and niece, Jennifer Thomas Larsen.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Franklin Booher; son Kenneth Garner (Aimee) of Climax; daughters, Tara Booher of Orange, CA, Danielle Chaffin (Josh) of Pleasant Garden, and Lisa M. Booher; sister, Lian Thomas of Kentucky; brother, Kent Booher (Faith) of Tennessee; brother-in-law, Terry Franklin (Cindy) of Climax, NC; grandsons, Justin Chaffin, Dylan Chaffin, of Pleasant Garden, and Cody Nelson  of Pleasant Garden, and Silas Garner of Climax; and adopted family, daughter, Rebecca Davis and grandsons, Caelob Teal, Jaekob Hill, Victor Ramirez (Estrella); great grandson Dominic Ramirez and numerous  nieces, nephews; great nieces, great nephews; cousins and many good friends.

The family would like to thank their Faith Wesleyan Church family and AuthoraCare Collective the Southeast team of Greensboro for all of there care and support.
