Dean Kirkman

Mr. Dean Kirkman, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, May 18, 2026, at George Brothers Funeral Service, with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.  In keeping with Dean’s favorite candy, Fireball candy will be available to everyone in attendance.

Dean was born in Guilford County on September 27, 1957.  His parents were James Cleo Kirkman and Susan Gamble Kirkman (deceased). He started his career at Dairyman Incorporated.  Dean began his work in HVAC with the Guilford County School Systems where he was foreman of the HVAC Department.  In 1993, Dean started his own HVAC company, Kirkman Heating and Air.  He formerly attended Shannon Hills Bible Chapel. He had many hobbies, including woodworking and cabinet making, target shooting, remote control aircrafts, boating, and he loved all animals and “adopted” and cared for all kinds.  His favorite hobby was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. For those that are able, and weather permitting, feel free to ride your motorcycle in honor of Dean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Etta Perdue Kirkman; daughter, Jenifer Kirkman Locklear (Shane); grandsons, Madox, Connor, and Hudson Locklear; father, Cleo Kirkman; brother, Randy Kirkman (Karen); niece, Heather Kirkman DeHart (Joe); and great-niece, Jodi DeHart.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the medical staff of Duke Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital, Dr. Peter Ennever, AuthoraCare Collective of Greensboro, and especially, Becky Blanton for all their compassionate and loving care extended to Dean during his illness.
