Mrs. Debra Ellenwood, 68, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her home.
Memorial Service information is presently pending, and will posted here when confirmed.
Debra was born in Guilford county, NC to the late Fred Dehart and Vera Stanley Ozment. She worked for several years as a flight attendant for Republic Airways, sparking and fueling her love for travel. Debra enjoyed all of her many flights, trips, and vacations and especially enjoyed memories made at the beach – she was a true “sand flea”. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheted works, was an avid reader, became successful trading stocks, and spent time breeding poodles. Debra also was a proud cancer survivor.
In addition to her parents, Debra is preceded in death by her sister Fredda Andrews.
Surviving is her husband, Jimmy Ellenwood; son Brandon Bean (Danielle); grandchildren Andrew Nazaruk, Dylan Bean, and Brielle Bean; brother Bill Ozment (Sandra); nephew Brian Andrews and niece Kelli Kelderhouse. Also surviving are great nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Debra and Jimmy were married for 41 years, and enjoyed spending time with their son and his family. Debra loved being “Grammy”, and watching the grandbabies grow. Her son was the light of her life, and she was his biggest supporter; encouraging him to seek Jesus, and inspiring compassion when considering others. Debra also was the proud mommy to very spoiled chihuahua named Rufus, whom everyone respects as another family member.
Her soft voice, deep love, and willingness to be there for her loved ones will be sorely missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Debra’s honor, American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
