Mrs. Demetrice “Dee” Louise Hooker Floyd, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 18, 2024 at her home.
Memorial service will be held 4:00pm Saturday, December 21, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Dee was born in Guilford County to the late James Hardy Hooker, Sr. and Frances Thomas Hooker. She worked several jobs over her lifetime, including cosmetology, for Greensboro News and Record, and her most recent job in customer service with Lincoln Financial, which she greatly enjoyed. When not working she enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows, shopping, getting her nails done, and bringing her family together. She was devoted to her entire family, caring for her parents as their health declined, and then ensuring that her family spent precious time together. She would drop everything in the instant that she could serve someone else. Dee also loved spending time with her loyal sidekick “Bear.” A special thank you to her niece Sara Hooker for helping Dee in so many ways.
In addition to her parents Dee is preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Catherine DeHart and Claire Hooker.
Surviving are her husband Randy Floyd of the home; son Daniel Ashe; daughter Whitney Adams (Geoffrey); siblings Mickey DeHart, Jim Hooker, Jerry Hooker, Gary Hooker, and Beverly Brigman (Frank). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to National MS Society PO Box #91891 Washington, D.C. 20090-1891 or at https://www.nationalmssociety.org/
