Derrick Stephen Graves, born June 15, 1992, passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, incredibly too soon at the age of 32. He was a beloved husband, father, son, grandson, and friend.
Derrick was a 32nd degree Freemason, member of Revolution lodge #552, and a Shriner. He was proudly employed by Old Dominion Freight Line as a Line-Haul driver and enjoyed his experiences of driving cross-country. Derrick loved baseball, playing the game from the age of 5 years old until adulthood.
Derrick never met a stranger- he had such a magnetic (and talkative) personality, he would have a conversation with anyone about anything. He was always willing to help anyone, especially his friends and family. His heart was as big as his smile, and his love for people ran deep.
Above anything, Derrick adored his family. His wife, Marissa Campbell Graves, and their two children, Easton and Lakelyn, were everything to him. Being a father was the greatest joy of his life, and he created a life full of love, memories, and laughter for his children.
Derrick was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stephen Graves, and grandparents, Donna Mae and Ray Preslar.
He is survived by his wife Marissa, son Easton, daughter Lakelyn, his father Ricky Graves, grandmother Jean Ellis and husband Jeryl, mother-in-law Teressa Campbell, father-in-law Mark Campbell and his wife's grandmother Gullanar Campbell. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends and family at George Brothers Funeral Home; 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406, on June 12, 2025, from 1:00pm-1:45pm before the celebration of his life at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation directly to his wife to support his children’s future.
