Mr. Donald Henderson Bledsole, age 75, went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday March 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, April 1st, at Straightway Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bledsole officiating the service. Burial will follow at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, 2811 Lees Chapel Rd, Browns Summit, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm Tuesday, March 31st at Straightway Baptist Church, 2556 Pitt Rd. Elon, NC 27244 and at other times at the home of Tammy Woody.
Don was born in Guilford County to the late James and Viola Harris Bledsole. He was a devoted Christian man who loved his God and his family. He was a faithful member of Straightway Baptist church, an award-winning gospel singer and cofounder of Called Out Ministries and was the owner and operator of B&B Plumbing in Yanceyville, NC. Don also enjoyed working at Mike Bledsole Mechanical, Inc. with his nephews and brother.
Don loved racing and aspired to be a driver. However, his driving career was short-lived as he wrecked the very first car he raced in spectacular fashion. He then became an owner and sponsor of many cars and a great supporter of family racing.
Don also loved football and pulled for the Panthers, much to the chagrin of the family.
Don enjoyed antiquing, thrifting, junking, riding to the mountains, and attending revivals and other gospel meetings. He also loved a good meal along the way, especially Mexican.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David Bledsole and Carl Voncannon (Buzzy)
Don is survived by his sister Margaret Little (Bobby); nieces Angie Goode (Jeremy), Tammy Woody (Keith); nephews Rev. Jimmy Bledsole (Darlene), Michael Bledsole (Gina), Donald Bledsole (Sarah), David Lee Gray, Darren Gray (Martha), and Tim Gray (Amanda), and many other great nieces and nephews and family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Straightway Baptist Church 2556 Pitt Rd. Elon, NC 27244.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kay Brooks and Jimmy Bailey for the care, love, and comfort given to Don.
