Mr. Donald Blaine Reavis, Sr. of Greensboro, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held 1:00pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at South Elm Street Baptist Church with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Reavis was born in Guilford County, NC to the late John and Evelyn Reavis. Don served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was employed as an electrician and retired from DISCCA in Greensboro. Don enjoyed scuba-diving with his brothers, spending time at the beach, fishing, and playing golf. His ideal day consisted of waking up at the beach, playing 18 holes, having lunch, going fishing to catch dinner, then cooking it up for his family to enjoy together. He also loved all animals, and he had a special place in his heart for dogs. His most cherished title was that of “PawPaw.” He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, and he had a special relationship with each of them.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret “Ruth” Holder Reavis.
Surviving are his children Cindy Dye (Billy) and Donald Blaine Reavis, Jr. Also surviving are his grandchildren Brandon Reavis (Katelin), April Nix (Rusty), and Daniel Dye (Jamie); great-grandchildren Waverly, Atlas, Enzo, and Matthew; siblings Wayne Reavis (Jackie), John Reavis, Jr. (Judy), Rachel Ellis, and Gene Reavis (Ruth); his faithful sister-in-law Rita Holder; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:00pm prior to the service.
