Donna Faye (Kearns) York

Donna York passed away July 20th, 2021. Throughout her battle with breast cancer she never let it get her down. Donna was such a strong person and faced every day with a big smile on her face no matter the circumstance. She was so brave through this journey and fought with everything she had. Some would say she lost her 2 year battle with cancer but she would say that she beat cancer today because she is now sitting in heaven and not to be sad because she is in a better place now. This is just one example of her positive attitude and how she lived her life every day.

She was born in Birmingham, AL daughter of the late Richard and Rachel Kearns, and sister of Linda Mcvey and late Janet Payne.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, & grandmother. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marty York, her son Josh York and daughter in-law Katie York. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Finley and Charleston, mother-in law Judy York and sister-in law Kathy Coble.

Relatives and friends are invited to Donna’s Life Celebration at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at George Brothers Funeral Service 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406 with Barney Yaskiewicz officating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
