Mr. Donnie Reece Brown, 72, of Greensboro, passed away on November 24, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at George Brothers Funeral Service with Dr. Montez Allen officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Donnie was born in Rockingham County to the late Earnest “Pete” and Mary Adkins Brown. He was also preceded in death by his devoted friend of eighteen years, Betty Kearns, “I’m with you now my love” and two sisters, Linda Brown and Sandra Brandon. He was employed at Old Dominion Trucking Company for twenty-five years and was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending his time working on old cars and especially playing with his grandchildren.
Donnie is survived by his children, Amber Garner (Chris) of Randleman, Scott Allen Brown of Greensboro and Kimberly Dawn Rominger of Walnut Cove; his grandchildren, Kylie Reece Misenhiemer and Christopher Cornelius Garner, II; his siblings, Earnest “Red” Brown (Cheryl) of Reidsville, Ann Cooper (Virgil) of Greensboro, Bobby Ray Brown (Maria) of Reidsville and his half sister, Mary May (Paul) of Julian.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
