Dorothy M. Gasque

Mrs. Dorothy Jean McGee Gasque, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday December 30, 2024.  

A celebration of life service will be held at Rehobeth Church in Greensboro, NC on Friday, January 3rd at 3pm. 

Dorothy was “Dot” to all who knew and loved her. Her life’s mission was raising her six children but she was also a retired bookkeeper and secretary for many years. After retiring she served her church in many ways. She served on many mission teams in the United States as well as other countries in need. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to work in her many flower beds all around her yard. 

Mrs. Gasque was preceded in death by her beloved husband (Lenward) of 57 years 7 months and 10 days, daughter Rita Gasque, granddaughter Jodi Osborne, grandson Zachary Phillips, mother Versie McGee, father Earl McGee, sisters Vivian Dempsey (Bob), Betty Forrest, (Stonewall), and her brother Bill McGee.  

She is survived by daughters Robin Mays, Pattie Schenk (Rick), Anita Jones (Andy), sons Tony Gasque (Holly), and Joseph Gasque. 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 6 great great grand children as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. 

The family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and Dot’s nurses; Nicole, Serenity, Rashida, Melissa, Christy, Donna, and all others that contributed to her care.  

The family will receive friends immediately following her service in the family life center of Rehobeth Church. 

 “She is part of our being, we will carry her memory with us as we continue on our journey.”
