Mrs. Elizabeth Shoffner Jones, 89, passed away on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elizabeth was born in Guilford County to the late Glenn and Maxine Shoffner. She graduated from Elon College and worked as an 8th grade teacher at Rankin Elementary for 7 years. She also ran the office for Jones Garage for over 20 years – a business she co-owned with her husband. Aside from her successful careers, Mrs. Jones had a passion for teaching children, her flower gardens, birds, and cats. She greatly enjoyed spending time pouring into the lives of those around her. Mrs. Jones was a member of Shannon Hills Bible Chapel. Above all else, Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Shoffner Barker.
Surviving is her devoted husband of 65 years, William Charles Jones; children Patricia “Patty” Ann Jones Williams (Richard), William Charles Jones, Jr. (Sherry), and Dianne Louise Jones (Dan). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Hanna Weisner (Aaron), Hunter Weisner, Tyler Jones(Chasity), Holden Weisner, and Landon Jones. And one great-grandchild, Callie Jones.
