Elizabeth Ann Prater, 79, of Greensboro, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at AuthoraCare Collective’s Beacon Place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 803 Sixteenth Street in Greensboro. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ann was a longtime member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was active in the church circles. She also volunteered at the church with the many pinto bean dinners, potluck dinners and of course, her world-famous cauliflower salad. She was employed with Beaman Corporation for many years. Ann went on to retire from Unifi, Inc., and worked with RE/MAX Realty Consultants in Greensboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe “Peaches” Prater.
Ann is survived by her children: Laura Spencer and husband, Michael of Greensboro, NC; Jeannie Ray and husband, Jim of Oak Ridge, NC; and Joe Prater, III and wife, Cheryle of Fuquay-Varina, NC; four grandchildren: Jason Ray and wife, Keely of Davidson, NC, Jonathan Ray and wife, Erin of Charlotte, NC; Brittany Stowell and husband, Dustin of Holly Springs, NC; and Joe Prater, IV and wife, Ali of Raleigh, NC; and six great-grandchildren: Brayden Ray, Rylan Ray, Jackson Ray, Kennedy Ray, Layla Stowell, and Sarah Stowell.
The family will receive friends from 11-11:45 AM Wednesday at the church, prior to the service.
