Emma Jean Edwards, 70, of Greensboro, NC, peacefully passed away on November 11th surrounded by loved ones, after an abrupt battle with cancer.
Emma was born on July 24, 1951 in the textile city of Greensboro. Emma graduated from James B. Dudley High School in 1969. She later pursued an Associates Degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, she worked in sales and administration for over 20 years. Emma was passionate about floristry and enjoyed making floral arrangements for friends and loved ones. She was best known for her impeccable style and grace.
In 1966, she met Jimmie Cunningham while attending Dudley High School. Emma and Jimmie wed in 1971 and went on to have three children, Jimmie "Ronnie", Sherry and Meshea.
Emma was predeceased by her father Otis L. McDaniel Sr., her mother Elizabeth L. Moore, sisters Patricia McDaniel Jones and Beverly McLamb.
She is survived by Jimmie Cunningham Sr., her son Jimmie "Ronnie" Cunningham Jr. (Myiesha), daughters Sherry Cunningham and Meshea Bryan, sister Renae McDaniel, and brothers, R. Elroy McDaniel (Gladys) and Otis Leroy McDaniel Jr. She leaves to cherish seven grandchildren: Lavar Cunningham, Isaiah Cunningham, Malachi Bryan, Ivan Cunningham, Micah Bryan, Patrick Warren and Milan Carnegie.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at George Brothers Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
