Eugene "Gene" Claude Apple

Mr. Eugene “Gene” Claude Apple, 93, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday afternoon on March 28, 2021 at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Apple was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Linda K. Apple.

Gene spent his career working as a Civil Engineer for the New York City Transit Authority.  He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for many years, and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Gene gave all he had for his family.  He was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife Linda until her passing, and continued to grieve for her until the end.  He was an amazing and dedicated father to his only child, Becky; and the best Papaw a child could hope for to his grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob.  He will be forever loved and cherished in our hearts.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Scott; and grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Scott, who were the joy of his life.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
