Mr. Frank Wilbur Townson, 85, of Greensboro, passed away on November 28, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at George Brothers Funeral Service. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Frank was born on June 6, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Thirlo and Flora Harris Townson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Townson; step son, Gene Wyrick and brothers, Leon Townson and James Townson. He was known as a tender hearted man and that was evidenced by his love for animals. He was also preceded in death by his pride and joy, his two chihuahuas, “Bambi” and “Missy”.
He graduated from Bessemer High School, was formerly employed with Orkin and retired after twenty-three years from Wesley-Long Hospital. He was an avid Duke basketball fan and enjoyed watching them play.
Frank is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Edna Lee Poole Townson; children, Brian Townson (Cynthia) and Rhonda Snodgrass (Tom); step children, Gary Wyrick, Roger Wyrick and Randy Wyrick; grandchildren, Ashley Graves (Derrick), Kristin Garza (Cody), T. J. Cash (Samantha) and Deidre Cash; step granddaughter, Norma Jean McAdoo; four great grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.
