Gay Nellie (Collie) Nunn

Mrs. Gaynell Collie Nunn, 76, of Greensboro, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Strader and Pastor Richard Nunn officiating.

She was born in Guilford County to the late Lester James and Nellie Tedder Collie. She graduated from Ragsdale High and enjoyed her time at Faith Wesleyan Daycare for 15 years. Mrs. Nunn had a personal ministry of praying for those on her heart and sending out cards of encouragement to those around her. She was a faithful wife, mother, and sister who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings L.J. Collie, Ola Mae Cloninger, Carl Cloninger, Ray Cloninger, Earl Cloninger, and Rose Lunsford.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Pastor Richard Nunn; sons, Joseph Nunn and wife Jennifer, and Matthew Nunn and wife Patricia; siblings, Martha Yarboro and Jimmy Cloninger. Also surviving is her faithful companion “Maverick,” and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members who loved her greatly.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm at the church prior to the service.
