Gene Ray O’Brien, Sr. 78, of McLeansville died Friday, May 9, 2025 at his residence.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mr. O’Brien attended McLeansville Baptist Church. He served with the North Carolina National Guard. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Guilford 656 Masonic Lodge. Ray was also a member of the American Legion Post 108 in Franklin, NC where he had a home for many years.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Cora M. O’Brien and sister, Louise P. Hight.
He is survived by sons, Gene Ray O’Brien, Jr. (Kim) of Greensboro and Patrick W. O’Brien of McLeansville; stepson, Randy S. McKee; stepdaughter, Theresa S. Lewis; brother, William T. O’Brien of Hendersonville; brother-in-law, Thomas Hight; along with ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
