Geneva Jane (Porter) Apple

Geneva Porter Apple, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 23 at Hope River Church in Gibsonville, with burial following in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 pm just prior to the service.

Geneva was born December 9, 1943 in Greensboro to the late Glen and Jessie Porter. She was a loving homemaker and mother to their four sons and granddaughter and a dedicated wife to her husband of 59 years, Dewey. In later years she was employed by Guilford County School Nutrition Services where she worked for over ten years. She was the true heart of their home, always putting the needs of her family first.

She was known for her delicious cooking, being a talented seamstress, her kind heart, ability to make everyone feel welcome and her strong love for God.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Jimmy, Jeff(Tina), Ronnie(Beth), BJ(Alison); grandchildren Krissy Wrenn(Dustin), Porter, Evie, Alan, Mallery, Josh, Jake, Amanda, Garrett, Issac; great-grandchildren Karsyn, Dawson, Lily, Braylee, Waylon, and Willow. Brothers, Charlie(Jean) Porter of Wake Forest, Joe(Linda) Porter and Art Porter of Martinsville, VA; Sisters, Gipsey Cassady of Stuart, VA and Ruby Huff of Patrick Springs, VA.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
