Mr. George Wayde Duncan, age 101, went home to his Heavenly Father on March 13, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Rehobeth Church, 4475 Rehobeth Church Road, Greensboro, with Pastors Tim Hunnicutt, Joe Brinkle and Jason Lawson officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church at 1:00 pm prior to the service. The burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park with military honors performed by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Duncan was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on October 17, 1923, to the late George and Mary Dodson Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-six years, Doris Hennis Duncan and daughter-in-law, Kathy Duncan. He was a faithful and lifelong member of Rehobeth Church and served his country honorably during World War II including time spent with General Patton’s Army during the Battle of the Bulge. He was also known for being a self-taught master woodworker.
He is survived by his son, Dale Duncan; daughter, Lyn Moon (Perry); granddaughters, Ashley Lowe (Jason) and Lindsey Lawson (Jason); great grandchildren, Savannah Lowe, Seth Lowe, Summer Lowe, Oliver Lawson, Amos Lawson and Salem Lawson; half brother, Kenneth Duncan and half sister, Helen Langley.
