George "Pops" Johnson

Mr. George “Pops” Johnson, 88, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at George Brothers Funeral Service where military honors will be presented for “Pop’s” many years of service in the military.

Pops served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. serving in both Korea and Vietnam before retiring from the military.  After his military career he owned and operated Johnson’s Home Repair for many years.  His family was the most important thing in his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Johnson; grandson, Anthony; parents, Calvin and Dessie Johnson; as well as his seven siblings.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Emmert Johnson (Kathy), Jimmy David Johnson, Jr., Cheryl Boggs (Robby), and Jeffrey Johnson (Terri); grandchildren, Tonya, Sonya, Jeffrey II, Emma, and William; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom he loved.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home.
