George Carlisle Truitt

Mr. George Carlisle Truitt, 81, of Brown Summit, passed away February 28, 2020, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Lakeview Memorial Park, with Pastor Steve Goode officiating.

Mr. Truitt was born August 7, 1938, in Darlington County, SC, to the late Robert and Mary Wofford Truitt. He was formerly employed with Pfizer and Morflex Chemical (now Vertellus) in Greensboro. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings and his step son, Ricky Fulp.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ginger H. Truitt; children, Liz Truitt (Randy), George Carlisle Truitt, II (Mona) and Bernie Truitt; the mother of his children, Nancy  C. Truitt; his grandchildren, Shannon Perdue (Jason) and Carlee Wheatley (Patrick); great grandchildren, Coleman, Clinton and Curtis Wheatley and Spencer Bowers and his brothers, Curtis Truitt (Kay) and Dearl Truitt.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Monday at George Brothers Funeral Service.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Richard Aronson, Dr. James Allred, Dr. Dan Bensimhon, Dr. Peter Van Trigt III, and the entire staff of Cone Hospital Heart and Vascular Team for the extraordinary care and concern given to George throughout his sickness.

In honor of George, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
