Gwendolyn Faye (Wilson) Newsome

Gwendolyn Wilson Newsome, 71, passed away at her residence, Thursday, June 3, 2021.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 4:00 pm at Pleasant Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Newell officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm, prior to the service at the church.

Gwendolyn was born July 15, 1949 in Guilford County to the late James Musco Wilson, Jr. and Helen Yancey Wilson. She was a member of Pleasant Union United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Megan Yancey Newsome.

Survivors include a daughter, Whitney Lee Newsome; a son, Colby Newsome (Tina Faye Hawley); 2 grandchildren, Jesse James Hawley and Cloe Maci Newsome; and a sister, Jayne Wilson Bowman (Chris).
