Mr. Harvey “Pa” Oxendine, Jr., 86 yeas old, was surrounded by his family and loved ones as the Lord called him home on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Jess Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30-1:45 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Harvey was born March 19, 1939 in Robeson County, NC to the late Harvey Sr. and Flora Hunt Oxendine. He will be remembered as a quiet, hard-working man that started working for his family about the age of six years old. He married the late Stella Mae Jacobs and they moved to Greensboro and started their own family. She passed away December 5, 2015. He married the second time to Louise McDonald.
Harvey retired as a a successful businessman and owner of “Oxendine Concrete Finishing Company”, that he started in the early 1970’s until August 2022. He was a member of Pineland Street Full Gospel Church of Greensboro, NC.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy Oxendine; two brothers, Carleton and Robert Oxendine; and one sister, Wanda Strickland.
Survivors include three children, Kathy Whitaker and husband Doug, of McLeansville, Larry Oxendine, of Whittier, and Christopher Oxendine and wife Claudia, of High Point; two grandchildren, Ashley Kessler and husband Daniel, of McLeansville, and Kalee Miller, of Thomasville; five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Oxendine and fiancé Joey, of High Point, Emily Oxendine, of Sophia, Connor, Braylee, and Emberly Kessler, of McLeansville; three sisters, CoraLee Robinson, of Fairmont, France Scott and husband Billy, of Rowland, Ann Hunt and husband Elton, of Lumberton, and brother, Howard Strickland and wife Carolyn, of Greensboro; and his present wife Louise; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
